CYNDI LAUPER - Detour - Rhino
Cyndi Lauper's celebrated musical journey takes an unexpected southern turn on Detour, her 11th studio album, which finds the Grammy®, Emmy® and Tony®-winning singer-songwriter putting her signature spin on a dozen classic country songs. Detour showcases Lauper's unmistakable voice on country classics from the '40s, '50s and '60s and features guest appearances from county music stars Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, and Willie Nelson. Lauper recorded the album in Nashville alongside a band comprised of the city s top session players. The album is Lauper s first for Sire Records and executive produced by legendary Sire founder, Seymour Stein.
KEITH URBAN - Ripcord - Capitol Nashville
Ripcord features a virtual who's who of creative collaborators for an album that Keith Urban says was his most exhilarating album to make, both musically and creatively. Urban says: "This album's journey began back in January, 2015 and took me to a lot of unexplored people and places. The end result was the recording and exploring of more songs then I've ever done before and carving that down to what I felt constituted Ripcord."
ANOHNI - Hopelessness - Secretly Canadian
ANOHNI has collaborated with Oneohtrix Point Never and Hudson Mohawke on the artist's latest work, Hopelessness. Late last year, ANOHNI, the lead singer from Antony and the Johnsons, released the first single from Hopelessness, "4 Degrees," a bombastic dance track celebrating global boiling and collapsing biodiversity. Hopelessness is a dance record with soulful vocals and lyrics addressing surveillance, drone warfare, and ecocide. A radical departure from the singer s symphonic collaborations, the album seeks to disrupt assumptions about popular music through the collision of electronic sound and highly politicized lyrics. ANOHNI will present select concerts in Europe, Australia and the US in support of Hopelessness this summer.
RYAN ADAMS - Heartbreaker: Deluxe Edition - PAX Americana
Ryan Adams' first solo album expanded with unreleased outtakes, pre-album demos, exclusive photos, and a never-before-seen DVD of a solo acoustic club show from 2000. A must-have for any Ryan Adams fan. Available as 2CD+DVD and 4LP+DVD.
DIANA KRALL - Stepping Out [Vinyl] - Justin Time Records
Stepping Out launched the career of one of our generation’s greatest jazz artists. “Diana Krall's 1993 debut shows that she had the goods right from the get-go. Krall sings with honesty, subtlety, and persuasion while playing the piano with head-shaking authority, both as accompanist - she offers amazing asides in between vocal phrases - and as an absolutely A-one improviser.” (Zan Stewart, Amazon). The Justin Time Essentials Collection introduces the album to a new generation of fans, but this time with an added bonus track from the original sessions – Diana’s incredible arrangement of “Summertime”.
