Temple Of The Dog To Play Five Cities On First Tour Ever!
Today was a monumental day for Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Mother Love Bone fans. For today - Chris Cornell and Stone Gossard's birthdays, BTW - it was announced that our hometown supergroup Temple Of The Dog would reunite for a five-city tour - their first ever - to mark the 25th anniversary of their only album. The tour will begin November 4th in Philadelphia, and will continue with stops in New York (11/7), San Francisco (11/11), Los Angeles (11/14), and a final show at the Paramount in Seattle, November 20th. Pre-sale tickets came and went today for Pearl Jam Ten Club members and subscribers to Soundgarden and Chris Cornell's e-mail lists, so if you missed, your best bet is to tune in at noon Friday, July 29th, when general public tickets go on sale. Due to the intimate size of the Paramount, this will be a VERY tough ticket to score...the venues in NY and LA are much larger: Madison Square Garden, The Forum, etc. One might think they would add a second, and even third Seattle show, but this is pure speculation. Needless to say, we are very excited, and hope we get lucky on Friday!
Of course all of this big news coincides with the long-awaited reissue of the self-titled sole album by Temple Of The Dog, which will drop on September 30th. There will be four versions: single CD; double CD (w/five studio outtakes and seven demos (including two unreleased songs from the sessions, "Angel of Fire" and "Black Cat"), double LP, and a four-CD Super Deluxe version, which will pack 48 unreleased demos, live tracks, and alternate mixes plus a DVD of live footage, music videos and more.
