THE BEATLES - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band: Anniversary Edition - Capitol
It was 50 years ago when The Beatles' John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr astonished and delighted the world, ushering in the Summer of Love with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, a groundbreaking masterwork that became popular music's most universally acclaimed album. The album is newly mixed by Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell in stereo, sourced directly from the four-track masters at Abbey Road Studios in London, and guided by the original, Beatles-preferred mono mix produced by his father, George Martin. This expanded 2CD package features the new stereo album mix on the first CD and adds a second CD of 18 tracks, including previously unreleased alternate takes of each of the album's 13 songs, newly mixed in stereo and sequenced in the same order as the album. The second CD also includes a new stereo mix and a previously unreleased instrumental take of "Penny Lane," and the 2015 stereo mix and two previously unreleased alternate takes of "Strawberry Fields Forever." The Anniversary Editions are also available as a Single CD, 2LP and Super Deluxe Edition Box Set.
JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE - Kids In The Street - New West Records
Kids In The Street is the seventh and latest album from American roots troubadour, Justin Townes Earle. After marrying, moving to various corners of the country and continuous touring with both full band and solo, Earle made time to reflect on the past few years and find new clarity. With Kids In The Street, he made a conscious decision to work with a producer for the first time in his now decade-long career. Earle made the trip to Omaha, Nebraska to work with Mike Mogis (First Aid Kit, M.Ward, Conor Oberst) at ARC Studios. Together, they hand picked musicians to create a new sound and environment for the songs that speaks to Justin’s roots, musically and personally. This creative collaboration, paired with Justin’s longtime guitarist Paul Niehaus, has resulted in an album that takes a big step forward.
AYRON JONES - Audio Paint Job - Sunyata Records
"If you’ve been following the music scene in the Pacific Northwest at all over the past 5 years, you’ll already know the name Ayron Jones. The guitar virtuoso has been wowing audiences, supporting globally revered artists, and solidifying himself as a force to be reckoned within the rock and roll genre. His latest LP, Audio Paint Job, to be released by Barrett Martin’s Sunyata Label, seamlessly mixes Jones’s blues-rock sound with a Northwest hip-hop sensibility that gets the listener closer than ever to his raucous, engaging live performance. ... Produced by Seattle legend Barrett Martin and mixed by another Seattle legend Jack Endino (who famously recorded Nirvana’s Bleach for $600), Audio Paint Job is the most cohesive and realized Ayron Jones has sounded to date." - Northwest Music Scene
LIL YACHTY - Teenage Emotions - Quality Control
Teenage Emotions merges Lil Yachty's signature gleeful sing-rap and auto-tuned transmissions with hip-hop bombast, pop and '80s cultural touchstones. The 19-year-old Atlanta native is proudly genre-defying, mining hip-hop, alternative, and indie sounds as well as his hometown Atlanta trap DNA to solidify his mosaic approach. The album is a reflection of young lives right now, from happiness to social media-saturated heartbreak to the dance floor, caught in a sound that effortlessly, constantly bounces from rap to pop to something entirely its own. Personally Yachty strives to promote positivity and good vibes. Teenage Emotions caters to a teenager s everyday lifestyle-heartbreak, happiness, that vibe when you waking up in the morning getting dressed and you just wanna dance.
