West Side Soul

Magic Sam

West Side Soul

by Matt Vaughan

In 1967, while the British Invasion was at its peak and some the older blues guys were finally getting their due and Hendrix was changing the way a guitar sounded, this blues man leaked out one of the greatest Chicago blues records of all time. It is the perfect mix of soul and blues, his guitar tone is what you want and his vocals (unlike many blues guitar players) is as tasty as his guitar playing. It is true R&B soul candy!
