Second To The Last Frontier
Feral Children are not your typical rock band and Second to the Last Frontier is not your typical rock album. With duel drummers and two singers sharing the duties, Last Frontier is the new frontier in Seattle music.
Feral Children have an appealing sound that is hard rocking with primal screams while also experimental with the different tones and noises that they create.
Their name means wild and untamed, and each song has ups and downs like wild and untamed animal to match.
With song titles like “Jaundice Giraffe,” “Baby Joseph Stalin” and “Cannibal Prison,” you can’t help but be intrigue to listen to this album.
“Spy/Glass House” starts the CD off with singer Jeff Keenan showing his softer side and then goes into a chaotic screaming that is his signature sound throughout the album.
The listener can hear dark “oooohhhs” from Cotton’s voice that mix well with the buzzing guitars, dual drums and melodies that make up Second to the Last Frontier.
Live, this band’s performance is as manic as their album, in a good way. You can count on either broken instruments or bruised body parts, and sometimes both. Both their live show and album will leave any music enthusiast wondering what to expect next for the Feral Children.
