On his first proper album in seven years, Isaak does not stray far from his signature sound - and that’s a good thing. Chock-full of strong pop songs soaked in reverb and atmosphere, Mr. Lucky also includes duets with Trisha Yearwood and Michelle Branch. Isaak still channels Roy Orbison better than anyone, as evidenced in "Baby Baby" and "I Lose My Heart." Other highlights are the atypical frenzied raveup "Mr. Lonely Man," the light-hearted Dixie rockabilly of "We've Got Tomorrow" and slow n' sultry "Very Pretty Girl." Highly recommended.
