|A Dying Machine [2LP]
After two decades at the forefront of all things guitar, a GRAMMY® Award win, 40 million-plus units sold between Alter Bridge, Creed, and his eponymous Tremonti, and countless other accolades, Mark Tremonti once again summited an uncharted creative peak in 2018. For the very first time, the guitarist and singer crafted an immersive concept and accompanying novel for Tremonti’s fourth full-length album and first for Napalm Records, A Dying Machine. Since emerging in 2012, he and his bandmates—Eric Friedman [guitar, bass] and Garrett Whitlock [drums]—have built the foundation for such an ambitious statement. Their full-length debut All I Was bowed in the Top 5 of the Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums Chart and Top 30 of the Top 200. The 2015 follow-up Cauterize hit the #1 spot on the Top Rock Albums chart on iTunes when it was released. 2015 saw the frontman take home “Best Guitarist” at the Loudwire Music Awards just a year removed from his 2014 “Riff Lord” win at the Metal Hammer Golden Gods. In between sold out headline gigs and festival appearances everywhere from Rock on the Range to Shiprocked!, 2016’s Dust maintained that momentum. With A Dying Machine, Tremonti reaches new heights like never before.

|Shannon In Nashville [LP]
Shannon Shaw, the captivating vocalist, bassist, and founder of Shannon & the Clams, will strike out on her own for her first solo album, Shannon In Nashville. Produced by The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach at his Nashville studio, Easy Eye Sound, the album features a cast of revered old-school session musicians which have breathed life into notable records by Elvis Presley, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, and John Prine, to name just a few. The album evokes the tear-jerking intonations of Brenda Lee and Patsy Cline and exudes a self-possessed melancholy that sets the scene for Shaw to comb through a personal history of love lost to time, circumstance, fear or neglect. "The way I typically write songs is: Something has happened to me and I want to encapsulate it. I want to trap and package it, so I can pull it out of my body, and look at it to get some perspective on this event that has affected me," says Shaw of the catharsis inherent in her song-writing process.

serpentwithfeet is an avant-garde vocalist and performance artist whose growing body of work is rooted in dueling obsessions with the ephemeral and the everlasting – key components of his artistic journey from a childhood stint as a choirboy in Baltimore through his time at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he studied vocal performance before relocating to New York City. His forthcoming debut full-length album soil is a return to the sensibilities and wide-eyed curiosity of his musical youth before symmetry and sterile soundscapes ruled the roost. With the release of soil the chameleonic serpentwithfeet (born Josiah Wise) rediscovers and ultimately returns to the unhinged version of himself he was sure he had outgrown. With this album I gave myself permission to let the leaves grow, let the flowers bloom, let myself be hairy and let my sound be hairy. I’m excited about the way things naturally come out of my body. I am always going to embrace discipline and streamlining. But I’m in a space at the moment where I don’t need or desire the corset. It’s time for expansiveness.”

New digipack CD! Holly Golightly (real name) started her musical career as a founder member of all girl garage band Thee Headcoatees, a Billy Childish / Thee Headcoats splinter group in 1991. She spent four years as a Headcoatee before breaking away to release her debut record, The Good Things, in 1995. Where the Headcoatees sound was a blend of girl group sounds and three-chord garage-rock with all the original songs coming from the pen of Billy Childish, Holly's solo sound is more a blend of pre-rock electric blues, folk rock, and less frantic rock 'n' roll. Apart from the wide range of covers of such artists as Willie Dixon, Ike Turner, Lee Hazelwood, Wreckless Eric, and Bill Withers, Golightly also writes most of her own material. Holly Golightly is definitely the most interesting and diverse artist to come out of the Billy Childish school and is certainly one of the better singer/songwriters of the post-grunge era who gets better with every album. Since her debut in 1995, Golightly has been very prolific, releasing a string of classic long play records and loads of singles for a wide variety of labels as well as touring extensively in America, Australia & Europe. This double vinyl LP, (or single CD newly packaged in a digipack) compiles Holly's first twelve 7 singles, A & B-sides. It includes the bluesy 'No Big Thing' with its bar-room piano and harmonica backing, the dirty guitar-driven 'Til I Get, the shuffling brushed drums and double bass of 'Come The Day, the haunting vocal and bottleneck guitar of 'Stain' and finishes with a brilliant up-tempo cover of Pavement's 'Box Elder'.

Babelsberg – the fifth album by Gruff Rhys – is the Welsh singer/songwriter’s very best work to date. That’s a pretty bold statement, considering the incredibly rich and deep back catalogue he’s amassed over the last twenty plus years (as a solo artist and as a member of both Super Furry Animals and Neon Neon), but in this case, it’s undisputedly true. Lean and laser focused, Babelsberg is a playful ten-song set that properly cements Gruff’s reputation as one of the U.K.’s true national treasures. Although recorded in a feverish three-day burst of activity early in 2016 with help from drummer Kliph Scurlock, Stephen Black (aka Sweet Baboo) and Osian Gwyneth, the record only came together late last year with the help of arranger Stephen McNeff and the National Orchestra of Wales. Their work on the record helped to create a lush backdrop for Gruff’s songs – lush, dreamlike and beautifully timeless. The result is something close to perfection, a place where Gruff found himself “in service to the song and the emotion above anything else” (Mojo). While the songs on Babelsberg are reflective of many of the 21st century’s damning injustices, in the hands of this ever-visionary lyricist, none of them are mired in the kind of gloom that the subjects deserve. Whether on the album opener’s encounter with the embodiment of boorish patriarchy (“Frontier Man”) or its hopeful paean to the idea of positive solutions to god awful situations (“Negative Vibes”) or the closer’s vain attempt to capture the perfect Instagram portrait as the apocalypse dawns (“Selfies In The Sunset”), Babelsberg effortlessly meshes Gruff’s uniquely poetic perspective to some of the most glorious melodies he’s ever written. Bold statements, we know. We’re confident you’ll be in agreement when you hear it. “Emblem of imagination, pioneer of creative possibility” - Q Magazine “A truly maverick - albeit always understated - composer at work” - The Guardian
Blue Water Highway runs just outside of Freeport up towards Galveston along the Texas Gulf Coast. This is the part of the world where the cultures of Texas and Louisiana collide in a unique melting pot steeped in the traditions of the people of both sates. It is here, in the town of Lake Jackson, TX, that Zack Kibodeaux and Greg Essington grew up, became friends, and began playing music in local coffee shops and bars. After High School, Greg headed to New York City to pursue a degree in music technology. Zack went to Texas State in San Marcos to study vocal performance, specifically opera. Zack would eventually coax Greg back to Texas to form the band they dubbed Blue Water Highway after the stretch of road that their lives centered around on the coast of Texas. Heartbreak City marks the band's most ambitious album to date as they have worked very hard to hone and refine their sound. The album was recorded in Texas with the producer known as Machine at the helm. Both live and in the studio, the band continues to explore new sounds and musical landscapes while remaining true to their roots along the Blue Water Highway.

|The Alligator Bride [LP]
On June 8, Oakland, California's Howlin Rain return with The Alligator Bride, their fourth album of swampy, ragged, unapologetic rock 'n' roll. Led by Ethan Miller (co-founder of psych rockers Comets On Fire and Heron Oblivion), the band recorded the album with Eric "King Riff" Bauer at the Mansion in San Francisco, direct to tape, in one or two takes. It's their first release on Silver Current Records, the artist-run label owned by Miller, and gleefully indebted to classic rock formations like the Grateful Dead's Europe '72 and Free's masterpiece of atmospheric, minimalist blues, 1969's Fire And Water. "The guiding principle for The Alligator Bride was to create 'Neal Cassady Rock,'" says Miller. "Which is to say, high energy, good-times adventure music, driving the hippie bus, shirtless and stoned, up for four days straight, and extremely fuzzy around the edges." It's a fitting vision for the band: torn between eras, fuzzed out but full of soul, an epic perspective on what's come before and what lies ahead, woven into a cosmic tapestry of riffs, rhymes, and resonant frequencies.

'Isolation' is Kali Uchis's debut album and features an impressive cast of featured artists and collaborators. Jorja Smith, Damon Albarn, Tame Impala's Kevin Parker, Tyler, The Creator, Bootsy Collins, Steve Lacy, Two Inch Punch, BADBADNOTGOOD, Thundercat all appear on the American Colombian's debut LP. Bookended by the airy, flute-laced 'Body Language', produced by Thundercat, and the immaculately orchestrated soul of 'Killer', recorded with The Dap-Kings in New York, it turns through R&B, on the stuttering beats and skanking guitar of 'Miami', punctuated by a spot from BIA, by way of popping funk on 'Just A Stranger', made with her previous collaborator, Steve Lacy. There's the metronomic electro-pop tick of 'In My Dreams', recorded with Damon Albarn, reciprocating the two appearances Uchis made on their recent record and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker lines 'Tomorrow' with a disco strut and melancholic synths. The mainstay influences of golden-era soul remain strong as well, here recalibrated to bemoan infidelity on 'Fool' and rail against corporate vampires on 'Teeth In My Neck'. The album also includes 'After The Storm' featuring Tyler, The Creator and Bootsy Collins, which ascended to the top of Spotify Viral charts across the globe, "Nuestro Planeta" featuring Reykon and "Tyrant" featuring Jorja Smith.

|One Night At Morey's: 1968
• Previously unissued live set from Detroit in 1968. • Includes covers of songs by The Meters, The Beatles, and Charlie Parker. • Liner Notes include a new interview with Dennis Coffey. From his early work with ’50s/’60s hit makers The Royaltones (who also backed other artists like Del Shannon)—to his run through the Motor City’s independent labels as a session ace—to his pioneering and legendary work with The Funk Brothers, backing band to massive Motown hits like “Just My Imagination,” “Ball Of Confusion (That’s What The World Is Today),” “War,” “Cloud Nine,” “Someday We’ll Be Together” and “Band Of Gold” among many others—Dennis Coffey is a guitar legend. The ’70s didn’t slow him down for one second as he struck out on his own and had a million selling hit with “Scorpio,” in 1971. He continued his studio session work (notably appearing on “Boogie Fever” by The Sylvers), scored films and produced other artists’ albums like Gallery’s Nice To Be With You and Rodriguez’ Cold Fact. The 2000s have found Dennis appearing on the big screen including the 2002 film Standing In The Shadows Of Motown and the 2012’s Searching For Sugarman. And to this very day you can find him playing every Tuesday night in Detroit. One Night At Morey’s: 1968 is drawn from the residency at Morey Baker’s Showplace Lounge in Detroit by the Lyman Woodard Trio. The trio consisted of Coffey on guitar, brilliant organist, Lyman Woodard, and drummer Melvin Davis, and could be found at Morey’s once a week. They played to a dedicated, often repeat, audience so the band kept the repertoire fresh and changing. One Night At Morey’s: 1968 follows last year’s Hot Coffey In The D: Burnin’ At Morey Baker’s Showplace Lounge released by Resonance Records, also drawn from the Morey’s residency, but with an entirely different track list. All tracks on One Night At Morey’s: 1968 are previously unissued and come directly from the vaults of Dennis Coffey and producer partner, Mike Theodore. Tracks include original compositions, “Big City Lights,” “Mindbender,” and “Union Station,” as well as surprising and funky covers of “Billie’s Bounce” by Charlie Parker, “Burning Spear” by The Soul Strings, “Cissy Strut” by The Meters, “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles, “Groovin’” by The YoungRascals, and “I’m A Midnight Mover” by Wilson Pickett from the pen of both Pickett and Bobby Womack.

Tony Award-winning Broadway legend BETTY BUCKLEY will release her inspiring and emotionally-compelling new live album Hope a profound mix of Americana, pop, rock and standards from Palmetto Records in physical, digital and streaming formats on Friday, June 8. Buckley will celebrate the album at Joes Pub at the Public in New York with an exclusive four-concert engagement from June 5 to 9. Buckley will also offer a Five Day Performance Workshop at New York s T. Schreiber Studio from June 2 to 8. The album Hope coincides with her debut as Madame L Angelle in the AMC television hit Preacher the third season begins June 25 and rehearsals this summer for her starring role in the first National Tour of the smash Tony-winning revival of Hello, Dolly! These successes follow a remarkable year which included co-starring in M. Night Shyamalan s film Split (the #1 Movie in America and an International Box Office hit) opposite James McAvoy, and a recurring role in the CW hit Supergirl. Hope, Buckley s eighteenth album, features her quartet of musicians including the renowned multi-Grammy-nominated Christian Jacob, Buckley s long-term Pianist, Arranger and Music Director; Oz Noy on guitar; Tony Marino on bass; and Dan Rieser on drums. Buckley commented, this recording is a collection of songs by some of my favorite composers and songwriters. All were chosen as a response to all that we, as a World Community, have experienced from late 2016 through 2017 until now. I hope this musical journey will allow listeners to experience, feel, dream and, hopefully, inspire you to claim your highest hope for brighter days for our beautiful planet and our united human family. The Tony Award-winning composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown who also contributed two numbers to Buckley s previous album, the two-disc Story Songs provided the album s reflective title song, which serves as a thematic centerpiece to the recording. Other highlights include two numbers from the seminal jazz-rock fusion group Steely Dan, including the wry Any Major Dude Will Tell You and the scintillating rock groove of Don t Take Me Alive. Several selections originate from Buckley s favorite singer/songwriters. Falling In Love is a plaintive ballad by Grammy Award-winner Lisa Loeb, while the noir-inspired deep cut Shades of Scarlett Conquering comes from the iconic Joni Mitchell. The joyously rollicking I Feel Lucky from Mary Chapin Carpenter bristles with life. Buckleys childhood friend and collaborator T Bone Burnett provided three compositions from the album, including the haunting My Least Favorite Life, which he wrote with Rosanne Cash and Lera Lynn for the HBO Series True Detective. And true to her love of the great standards, the album features two timeless classics, a sensitive interpretation of the Jerome Kern and Ira Gershwin gem Long Ago and Far Away. BETTY BUCKLEY, in an award-winning career that has encompassed TV, film, stage and concert work around the globe, is probably best known as one of theater s most respected and legendary leading ladies. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella, the Glamour Cat, in Andrew Lloyd Webber s Cats. Buckley received her second Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a musical for her performance as Hesione in Triumph of Love, and an Olivier Award nomination for her critically-acclaimed interpretation of Norma Desmond in the London production of Andrew Lloyd Webber s Sunset Boulevard, which she repeated to more rave reviews on Broadway. She is a 2012 Theatre Hall of Fame inductee.

|The Outsider [LP]
Vinyl LP pressing. 2018 release. The Outsider was recorded in Atlanta, Denver, Nashville and Austin during a non-stop touring cycle and mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer/producer Vance Powell (who has worked with the likes of Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell and Jack White). About The Outsider Dayton says, "It's a lot like my previous album The Revealer, but even more stripped down with some sweet acoustic guitar songs and some raw electric guitar work." All the influences are there; the George Jones-inspired singing on "Changin' My Ways," the Outlaw country twang of Waylon and Jerry Reed on "Belly of the Beast," the angst and energy of The Clash and X on the hillbilly protest song "Charlottesville," and the deep east Texas blues and Cajun rockabilly of "May Have To Do It (But I Don't Have to Like It)" and "Hurtin' Behind The Pine Curtain." While there are many different sides to him musically, this all rolls into one big hybrid that Jesse Dayton has been honing for over 20 years.

|Listening To Pictures (Pentimento Volume One) [LP]
First new album in nine years by a musical visionary and hugely influential figure in new music. Continuing his lifelong exploration of the possibilities of the studio, fragments of performance are sampled, looped, overdubbed and re-arranged into beguiling unexpected shapes. Hassell applies the painterly technique of pentimento to the arrangements, teasing out texture by the careful overlaying of sound, or a carefully timed reveal of the delicate bones pinning the frame of a track together. Smeared, gauzy, gorgeous atmospherics to perfectly soundtrack a vertical listening experience
Lindsey Jordan is on the brink of something huge, and she’s only just graduated high school. Her voice rises and falls with electricity throughout Lush, her debut album as Snail Mail, spinning with bold excitement and new beginnings at every turn. In the time that’s elapsed since Habit, her 2016 EP, Jordan has graduated high school, toured the country, opened for the likes of Girlpool and Waxahatchee as well as selling out her own headline shows, and participated in a round-table discussion for The New York Times about women in punk -- giving her time to reflect and refine her songwriting process by using tempered pacings and alternate tunings to create a jawdropping debut both thoughtful and cathartic. Recorded with producer Jake Aron and engineer Johnny Schenke, with contributions from touring bandmates drummer Ray Brown and bassist Alex Bass as well, Lush sounds cinematic, yet still perfectly homemade. “Is there any better feeling than coming clean?” sings the eighteen-year-old guitarist and songwriter halfway through the sprawling anthem that is “Pristine,” the album’s first single. You can’t help but agree with her. It’s a hook that immediately sticks in your head—and a question she seems to be grappling with throughout the record’s 10-songs of crystalline guitar pop. Throughout Lush, Jordan’s clear and powerful voice, acute sense of pacing, and razor-sharp writing cut through the chaos and messiness of growing up: the passing trends, the awkward house parties, the sick-to-your-stomach crushes and the heart wrenching breakups. Jordan’s most masterful skill is in crafting tension, working with muted melodrama that builds and never quite breaks, stretching out over moody rockers and soft-burning hooks, making for visceral slow-releases that stick under the skin. “The artist I’m most excited for in 2018” -Jon Caramanica, NYTimes “Songs that combat the acute smallness of suburban youth, filling in empty space with punk-inflected guitar and imagining vantages from which everything feels bigger and more beautiful”. Pitchfork “Rarely can we witness the creative progression unfold from prodigious potential to fully realized vision so quickly” - NPR
