This is the second volume of the Neil Young Archives. A series of box sets produced by Neil Young that provide a definitive, comprehensive chronological record of his entire body of released work.
This box set spans the years 1972 through 1976, a productive and prolific period for Neil that included the release of the classic albums On The Beach, Tonight’s The Night and Zuma. Homegrown is part of this history as well. The collection features many unreleased songs, plus unreleased alternate versions, different mixes, rare and live tracks from Neil Young solo, and with bands Crazy Horse, The Stray Gators, The Santa Monica Flyers and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
PEACEMEAL is yet another reinvention for Ron Gallo. Gallo exits the noisy confines of the garage and goes outside where there’s no limit to embracing all aspects of himself. The result is a colorful hodgepodge of 90’s hip-hop, r&b, weirdo pop, jazz, and punk. The sounds change, but the sense of humanity and humor is the common thread in all of Gallo’s music. Mostly written and recorded during a period of self-isolation in summer 2019, it’s an uncanny foreshadowing of the global situation that was to come and give all the songs a new meaning. This is feel-good music that attempts to confront and understand human existence. Ron Gallo just wants to be himself, destroy expectations and encourage you to do the same in a world that does just about everything to try and box us in - Now, eat before it gets cold!
Adult Mom began as the solo project of Stevie Knipe in a Purchase College dorm room in 2012, and now falls between the playful spectrum of solo project and collaborative band with beloved friends and musicians Olivia Battell and Allegra Eidinger.
On Driver, Adult Mom’s third studio release, Stevie Knipe delves into the emotional space just beyond a coming-of-age, where the bills start to pile up and memories of college dorms are closer than those of high school parking lots. Like so many other twenty-somethings, Adult Mom’s third LP seeks to answer the age old question: what now?
With an actualized sound, Adult Mom has arrived to soundtrack the queer rom-com they’ve been dreaming of since 2015. Driver incorporates an expert weaving of sonic textures ranging from synths and shakers to ‘00s-inspired guitar tones which convey a loving attention to detail.

Jimbo Mathus & Andrew Bird will be teaming up for a new release called "These 13" on 3/5. It is a little bit folk, a little bit gospel, a little bit bluesy, a little bit Hank, a little bit hill country, but most emphatically, it is all heart. Andrew Bird and Jimbo Mathus have climbed the height of their creative ladders in this collection of soul-strung songs, both lyrically and musically, a synchronicity between the two that feels joined in some special imaginative place that can only be visited by the best of songwriters. All songs written and performed by Andrew Bird + Jimbo Mathus. Album was produced by Mike Viola

There are only a handful of living musicians who can continually reinvent themselves year after year, and even fewer still who can claim to have maintained equal degrees of innovation and excellence across a career spanning decades.
Pat Metheny is one of the few artists in the world who can lay claim to such a description. On his latest album, Road To The Sun, Pat Metheny surprises us once again with his seemingly endless ability to harvest new vistas while retaining the instantly recognizable Metheny sound.
With two major new works, performed by five of the world ́s leading guitarists, Metheny charts a new way of obliterating boundaries between genres while simultaneously unveiling new facets of an already expansive personal language.
Grammy-winner Jason Vieaux, described by NPR as “perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation” was tapped by Metheny to perform his four-movement solo guitar suite Four Paths Of Light.
The centerpiece of this landmark recording is Road To The Sun, a six-movement piece for fellow Grammy-award winning Los Angeles Guitar Quartet LAGQ – Metheny describes them as “one of the best bands in the world”.
In the end, Road To The Sun is nothing if not another truly great Pat Metheny record. It will rank alongside Secret Story, Bright Size Life, 80/81,One Quiet Night, Still Life (talking), Song X, and all the rest as being yet another unexpected and almost willfully inscrutable plot twist, inevitable to a genre with only one common element: Metheny himself.
Gothenburg indie-folk quartet, Maple & Rye debut album 'For Everything' consists of vocal harmonies & powerful melodies are interspersed with bombastic drums, danceable rhythms & grand choruses. Parallel with a brittleness & inwardness that contrasts with the joy & dance. It is music that changes from playfulness to intimacy & emotion. Their musical inspiration is drawn from a broad palette from blues & funk to rock and folk-pop, although the main influences are the members' own emotional lives.
The first Gillian Welch & David Rawlings collaboration to feature both of their names, All The Good Times, a collection of 10 acoustic covers recorded at home, received a 2021 Grammy nomination for Best Folk Album. After a devastating tornado ravaged Nashville in the Spring of 2020 making their studio unusable, immediately followed by a global pandemic shutting down their community and touring livelihood, Welch and Rawlings were able to find the inspiration to set up recording equipment in their home living room and record ten performances on their reel-to-reel of some of their favorite songs from the likes of John Prine (“Hello In There”), Bob Dylan (“Abandoned Love”), Norman Blake (“Ginseng Sullivan”), and more. According to Uncut magazine, “The 10-song collection is the equivalent of being welcomed into Welch and Rawlings’ living room and the pair treating you to a private recital. In other words, it doesn’t get much better than this.”

K-Pop's new diva, found in the jewelry box called `Querencia'.
Divas have a very special presence in the history of Korean popular music.
Kim Choo-ja, the most famous singer of the "Team Shin Jung-hyeon" that opened a new paradigm for psychedelic rock and soul in the late 1960s, presented radical and sensual charisma like Janis Joplin and Betty Davis. Kim Wan-sun led the age of the new wave K-Pop in the 80s and brought new wave rock and synthpop into the mainstream, opening a new era of never-before-seen dance music. The emergence of Uhm Jung Hwa led to even more trendy visuals and sensual music in the 90s, Lee Hyori brought authentic hip-hop and R&B into the mainstream, and BoA changed the paradigm for K-Pop by taking a leap as a global pop star. All divas deserve to be remembered as historical events that created turning points of the ages.
So who is the diva that will carry on this legacy in the current K-Pop scene? Seldomly occurring in the idol market that has been reestablished in group units over the past few years, CHUNG HA rose as a performer to capture the public's heart with her explosive energy, while making a name for herself as a solo vocalist with a captivating voice, proving her own potential with her career. Through collaborations with artists that belong to various music scenes and genres, from idols to R&B/hip-hop artists, and 88rising's Rich Brian, CHUNG HA has broadened her horizon and evolved. Her first official full-length album "Querencia" shows even bolder directionality and richer details in her musical endeavor.
Her official 21-track album encompasses various contemporary pop and dance music styles that cross the boundaries of house, Latin, afrobeat, and bass. "Querencia" is divided into four chapters based on the jump-off points of conceptual tracks in the themes of Noble, Savage, Unknown, and Pleasures. While the contrast of opposing and intense concepts that each of the chapters symbolize are grossing genres, they constitute CHUNG HA's artistic identity as she completes her own universe through complex and diverse narratives of emotion.

Ariel Posen's music occupies the space between genres. It's a rootsy sound that nods to his influences — heartland rock & roll, electrified Americana, blue-eyed soul, R&B, Beatles-inspired pop — while still moving forward, pushing Posen into territory that's uniquely his own. He turns a new corner with Headway, a solo album that finds the songwriter taking stock of his personal and musical progress. Posen began recording Headway in December 2019, one week after wrapping up international touring in support of his acclaimed debut, How Long. He'd been on the road for a year and a half, playing shows across the U.K., Europe, America, and his native Canada. Along the way, Posen had received standing ovations not only from his audiences, but also from outlets like Rolling Stone, who dubbed him "a modern-day guitar hero," Music Radar listing him as a fan voted top 10 rock guitarist of the year, and the Western Canadian Music Awards, who nominated him for Breakout Artist of the Year. Coming back home to Winnipeg, he began sifting through the new songs he'd written between tour dates. Many of them had already been tested on the road, their arrangements whittled into shape by a group of road warriors at the top of their game. Practically all of them were about the process of evolution — of making progress in life, love, and all points in between. Those themes were reflected in the music itself, which presented a crisper, clearer picture of Posen as a songwriter. If How Long had been his introduction to the roots-music world, then Headway was something different: a sharply-defined snapshot of a musician who has truly crystallized his sound. Like its title suggests, Headway is all about growth. Already celebrated as a frontman, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Ariel Posen hits a new high-water mark with his second album — an album that prioritizes songwriting above all else, showcasing the progress of a lifelong musician who's still in the middle of an upward trajectory.
A guitarry hybrid of AZ's edgy rock/soul/r'n'b sound. Grooving good times, acerbic exchanges overheard in the street, shifts in community, the losses you will carry always, dark recesses late at night that echo with a wonder you've never felt before. Life! All instruments played by AZITA; the wackest, most AZITA-harmonious sounding pop album yet.
Dick's Picks Volume 36
In the Grateful Dead ?rmament, there are countless good shows, shining like stars in the sky. Then there are the great shows, those that shine the brightest. And then there are the truly transcendent shows, those that exert a gravitational pull-dare we say it, like a "Dark Star"-on all the other concerts from that particular year or tour. These are the nights that every Dead Head learns about right after getting on board the bus. and the September 21, 1972 performance at the Spectrum in Philadelphia is truly one of those nights. This is the concert that original Dead archivist Dick Latvala strongly considered to kick off the Dick's Picks series, and it's the one that ended it. It's one of those nights when every Garcia guitar solo tells a story, when the rhythm section is locked in like the gears on a Swiss watch, and when the band is repeatedly hitting its vocal harmonies dead-on. It's also a night when Bob Weir absolutely shreds, his unusual chord voicings and off-time guitar ?lls perfectly complementing Jerry's leads (the set also includes some highlights from the 9/3/72 show at Folsom Field in Boulder, CO). So when we at Real Gone Music were considering which Pick to put on vinyl next, the choice was pretty obvious. But to do this concert justice, we had to bring in the best. This 7-LP set is mastered for vinyl by Jeffrey Norman at Mockingbird Mastering from Bear's original tapes, which are absolutely brilliant in their clarity and immediacy. Lacquers are cut by Jeff Powell, who got his start at Memphis' legendary Ardent Studios and has worked with everybody from Bob Dylan to Gregg Allman to Irma Thomas. Pressed on 180-gram vinyl at Furnace Record Pressing, the vacuum-quiet test pressings were approved by engineer Norman, archivist David Lemieux, and Real Gone's own Gordon Anderson. And each of the seven LPs is housed inside a polyvinyl sleeve carefully nestled (with extra padding!) inside a two-piece hardshell box. We've also included a 4-page insert featuring, along with original photos and graphics and Bear's original notes, a word from Bear's son Star?nder Stanley on behalf of the Owsley Stanley Foundation, who kindly provided the tapes for our reissue. Limited to 2000 hand-numbered copies, this one's going to be a keepsake. Don't miss it.

Dick's Picks Vol. 36-The Spectrum, Philadelphia, PA 9/21/72
Flock' is the record that Jane Weaver always wanted to make, the most genuine version of herself, complete with unpretentious Day-Glo pop sensibilities, wit, kindness, humour and glamour. A consciously positive vision for negative times, a brooding and ethereal creation. The album features an untested new fusion of seemingly unrelated compounds fused into an eco-friendly hum; pop music for post-new-normal times. Created from elements that should never date, its pop music reinvented. Still prevalent are the cosmic sounds, but 'Flock' is a natural rebellion to the recent releases which sees her decidedly move away from conceptual roots in favour of writing pop music. Produced on a complicated diet of bygone Lebanese torch songs, 1980's Russian Aerobics records and Australian Punk. Amongst this broadcast of glistening sounds is 'The Revolution Of Super Visions', an untelevised Mothership connection, with Prince floating by as he plays scratchy guitar; it also features a funky whack-a-mole bass line and synth worms. It underlines the discordant pop vibe that permeates 'Flock' and concludes on 'Solarised', a super-catchy, totally infectious apocalypse, a radio-friendly groove for last dance lovers clinging together in an effort to save themselves before the end of the night. The musician's exposure to an abundance of lost records served as a reminder that you still feel like an outsider in this world and that by overcoming fears you can achieve artistic freedom. Jane Weaver continues to metamorphise' 'Ominous and luminous, expansively spacious and sonically imploding, scientific, ephemeral and eternal' The Quietus
Caamp formed when Taylor Meier and Evan Westfall met and bonded over a shared love of music and a shared love of home, specifically the inspiration they culled from the Midwest lives they grew up in. The two began writing and performing and quickly grew a rabid fan base. A self-titled 2016 debut album took flight, quickly gaining over 284 million streams, with a staggering 124 million streams for their single ' Vagabond ' alone. Evan and Taylor brought on a third member and longtime friend, Matt Vinson, to join on bass just before recording By and By. In week one of the release of their full length, By and By, Caamp made multiple chart debuts. By and By entered the Billboard Top 200, was the #1 Heatseeker, #1 on the New Artist Alternative Albums, top 5 vinyl album sales for the week and entered the Alternative and Emerging Artist charts. Caamp scored their first #1 at radio with their single 'Peach Fuzz,' made their late night television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and followed that up with a killer performance on CBS This Morning Saturday. After a victorious festival season playing Firefly, Shaky Knees, Forecastle, Outside Lands, Austin City Limits, Great Escape and many more, Caamp kicked off a major US headlining tour and sold out show after show. CAAMP also recently performed on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, filmed in Caamp's hometown of Columbus, OH during quarantine. The trio also just recently released their first live EP Live From Newport Music Hall. The five track recording was taken from one of their seminal hometown shows in Columbus, OH. The recording contains live versions of songs off their most recent album, By and By. 'Officer of Love' is the first standalone track since the album release and is impacting AAA radio now. Side A of the 7' features the official version of 'Officer of Love' while side B includes an exclusive demo of the track.
Limited colored vinyl LP pressing. Lush string arrangements, haunting piano, and layered vocal harmonies accompany the "reimagined" acoustic versions found on "Songs Of Death And Resurrection".
