The hard-hitting, melodic heavy metal band Alcatrazz celebrate RSD Drops 2021 with the release of a colored double vinyl edition of their latest studio offering, Born Innocent. The 13-track opus, having previously only been available on CD and digital formats and never on vinyl will be a must-have collectible for anyone who considers themselves a fan of rock (pun intended!)

Their first studio venture since 1986’s Dangerous Game. Alongside the unique vocal prowess and range of star frontman and founding member Graham Bonnet, Born Innocent also features fellow founding members Jimmy Waldo and Gary Shea. And from the classic album art, featuring the mighty rock itself, Born Innocent is a journey into the sort of heavy, melodic and supremely articulated hard rock that is a cornerstone of the likes of Rainbow and the Michael Schenker Group, territory Alcatrazz successfully strode in the ‘80s before going on hiatus.

Born Innocent was produced by Jimmy Waldo with Giles Lavery and mixed and mastered by Andy Haller and features many former stars from Graham's long career. Guest appearances include Chris Impellitteri, who wrote the music and played all guitars on the arpeggio-powered “Born Innocent”, with Bonnet’s vocals soaring to old-school heights, as did Bob Kulick for the majestic “I Am The King”. Virtuoso Japanese guitar maestro Nozomu Wakai similarly wrote and played guitars on the double-kick steel-plated Irish warrior ode “Finn McCool”, while the six-string legend that is Steve Vai wrote “Dirty Like The City”, with Bonnet once again powerfully hitting notes that are beyond the business of most humans.

As fans will immediately hear, Alcatrazz are back doing what only they can do with Born Innocent, delivering quality hard rock with genuine storyteller lyrics, virtuoso performances and an added layer of modern ‘heavy’ that underscores the melodic excellence. Don’t miss out on this piece of rock history.

All Them Witches are known for their loud and lengthy live shows. 2020 found the band releasing their critically acclaimed album, Nothing As The Ideal. New West Records is proud to present All Them Witches Live On The Internet. This 16-song set will be pressed on six variations of color vinyl across 3 LPs, housed in an individually numbered, foil stamped wide spine jacket with spot gloss. Raleigh NC’s The Backsliders were formed in 1992 by Steve Howell and Chip Robinson, rock ‘n’ roll dudes playing country-tinged tunes with just the right amount of Don’t Give A Damn attitude. The original line-up of Chip Robinson (lead vocal, guitar, electric 12-string guitar), Steve Howell (harmony vocal, lead guitar), Danny Kurtz (bass), Jeff “JD” Dennis (drums), came back together in 2012 with new bandmate Greg Rice (keyboards). With engineer John Plymale of Overdub Lane at the board, they wasted no time in recording the RALEIGHWOOD (EP), featuring their hardcore honky-tonk and unmistakable swagger. Steve Howell describes the writing of these songs: “Headlights” was written in the spirit of late ‘60s/early ‘70s California Country Rock with peyote and red wine as the chief inspirations. “You Can Be My Baby Now” is the haze of a long weekend listening to Big Star and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. “Nightfalls” was written after being haunted by a ghost that never told me her name. Danny and JD kicked it up into the southern soul stratosphere. “Forever and Ever” is the result of Neil Young and Crazy Horse running thick through my teenage veins. I can still taste it! “Twang”, well... nothing says attitude better than a twangy Gretsch guitar right between the eyes.” The attitude of the original lineup is still there, though they may not be the same band that burned up the road all those years before, they still have something to say, something to prove, and something to be.

Proceeds from this release, and three others in this series support The Shalom Project (an organization that supports NC families in need).
This is a regional release and though it’s available to all RSD-participating stores, it will primarily be available at stores in North Carolina.

Side 1: “Headlights”, “You Can Be My Baby”
Side 2: “Night Falls”, “Forever And Ever”, “Twang”

This recording features a full performance by great musicians at their peak, providing a "you are there" experience of the excitement of great music and an appreciative crowd. Mastered from the original tape reels by Kevin Gray, the limited-edition 180g 3LP set includes an extensive booklet with rare photos, plus interviews with Carlos Garnett and Cecil McBee. Award-winning arts journalist and critic Mark Stryker contributes the main essay alongside remembrances by American journalist, educator, author, activist and friend of Roy Brooks Herb Boyd, alto saxophone legend Charles McPherson (who grew up with Roy Brooks), Louis Hayes (who got Roy the gig with Horace Silver) and more. The project came about as a desire by Reel to Real Recordings to make a positive contribution to Black Lives Matter. Understanding is our celebration of the talent, courage and spirit of the Black musicians who created a timeless and universal art, with the recognition that the injustices of 50 years ago are still with us. Proceeds will go directly to The Detroit Sound Conservancy. The album is produced with the cooperation of Cecil McBee and Carlos Garnett and the estates of Roy Brooks, Harold Mabern and Woody Shaw.

About the artist: In his younger days in Detroit, Brooks started off drumming with Yusef Lateef. He played with Horace Silver from 1959-64, including on the album Song for My Father; in 1963 he released his first album as a leader. Following this he freelanced in New York City through the 1960s and early 1970s, playing with Lateef again (1967-70), Sonny Stitt, Lee Morgan, Dexter Gordon, Chet Baker, Junior Cook, Blue Mitchell, Charles McPherson, Pharoah Sanders (1970), Wes Montgomery, Dollar Brand, Jackie McLean, James Moody (1970-72), Charles Mingus (1972-73), and Milt Jackson. His 1970 album The Free Slave featured Cecil McBee and Woody Shaw. Later in 1970 he joined Max Roach's ensemble M'Boom, and in 1972 put together the ensemble The Artistic Truth.

At the time the show originally aired in summer 2020, this was the first new music to be heard from Budd in over six years. Tragically it also ended up being some of the last, as he passed away in December at the age of 84. The Guardian wrote “Harold Budd's sublime music was a gateway to a brighter world. It can't be contained with the term 'ambient', it is a guide to dreamworlds and a haven in tough times. His albums are a gateway to a beyond and an invitation to exist, however briefly, above yourself”. Pressed on clear vinyl.

Del Casher may not be a household name, but you’ve undoubtedly heard his music. As a member of the famous Wrecking Crew, he’s played on many hundreds of recordings that have provided the soundtrack to our lives. He played on the Lawrence Welk Show, recorded Frank Zappa’s first demo, backed Elvis Presley, and built guitars with Les Paul. His many inventions include the Wah-Wah pedal and the Ecco-Fonic, influencing the development of electric guitar playing. In 1976, Casher was commissioned to write and record a soundtrack for Italian Stallion, a re-branding of the 1970 softcore porn film "The Party at Kitty and Stud’s”, which saw Sylvester Stallone's first on-screen appearance. While even Stallone called the film “horrendous”, the soundtrack for Italian Stallion stands on its own as a musical masterpiece. Casher recruited some of the best musicians around, including fellow members of the Wrecking Crew, to lay down one of the funkiest, grooviest movie soundtracks of the ‘70s. Over 40 years later, with the help of ORG Music, Del Casher dug up his original master tapes and assembled a record’s worth of material for the soundtrack’s first ever release. Italian Stallion will make its long overdue debut with a vinyl pressing as part of RSD Drops.

Dave Davies

Bug [RSD Drops 2021]

2 x LP: $ UNAVAILABLE

July Exclusive

If Dave Davies did nothing more than create the slash-and-burn power chords of the Kinks' "You Really Got Me" he'd earn a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. As it is, the younger Davies brother has accomplished much more. His first studio album in over 20 years finds Ray's frequently overshadowed sibling reviving that rather charming '70s device, the concept album--the plot here revolving around extraterrestrial visitation and brain implantation. Davies brings the idea of benign aliens a little closer in a collection that recalls some of the best trends of the '60s and '70s. He uses a rock template that harkens back to post-Tommy Who ("The Lie"), Mott the Hoople ("Whose Fooling Who"), and Deep Purple ("It Ain't Over 'Till It's Done"), sounding rather anachronistic as a result. The songs are engaging and show Davies to be a writer of considerable skill and wit, but they're somewhat stuck in the way-back machine.

Miles Davis had a deep love and respect for boxing, seeing deep parallels between “the sweet science” and his own relationship with music. One of Miles’ favorites of his own recordings was the 1971 soundtrack to the Bill Cayton documentary about Jack Johnson, and he was inspired by the political and racial subtext of the legendary boxer’s saga.  Culled from the celebrated expanded project The Complete Jack Johnson Sessions released in 2003, and name-checking a number of pugilistic legends (“Ali,” “Sugar Ray,” “Duran,” “Johnny Bratton”), these funk-infused recordings rock harder than anything else that Miles put to tape. Featuring a sterling line-up of musicians (Wayne Shorter, John McLaughlin, Dave Holland, Keith Jarrett, Herbie Hancock, Jack DeJohnette, Billy Cobham) and a legendary cover photo of Miles in the ring captured by Jim Marshall, the release finds this music issued on vinyl (in brilliant yellow), for general release, for the first time ever.

Originally released in 1990, Ani DiFranco's first album is so revolutionary that the purveyors of status quo install women's music sections in the dusty corner of their stores in order to hide it. Dorm rooms coast to coast transform into audio dub houses where young women with aching arms scratch out hand-written labels and personal letters like "you have to hear this." These quasi-booking agent and pirate distributors work long into the night purchasing greyhound tickets for a certain young Folksinger to come play at their school. Today. Folk and poetry prevail. Vulnerable stories arm themselves as powerful songs on Ani DiFranco's self-titled first solo record. Ani's voice is rich and eloquent. Her guitar moves like an appendage. From cockroach pus to abortion rights the record doesn't flinch. This singer/songwriter folk mecca contains songs with an epic stage life such as, "Both Hands," "Out of Habit," "The Slant," and "Fire Door." All of the tracks embody the love and humor inherent in Ani's music. Thematically this record gives a face to feminism that is both beautiful and accessible to anyone. The stories focus on relationships and humanity. We sit in the waiting room of an abortion clinic after facing an angry crowd in "Lost Woman Song." "Talk to Me Now" and "The Story" confront the inequality of the sexes in a man's world. The love songs examine relationships with the same discernment as the political ones. "Both Hands" is a hands down favorite among any DiFranco fan. "Every Angle" infuses the thrill of protest with the joy of a crush, "thoughts of you are picketing my brain/ they refuse to work such long hours without rest/ in unstable conditions at best." And the unforgettably poetic and guitarific, "Fire Door" is a heartfelt treat in its first studio recording.

Bobbie’s journey from country singer-songwriter to blue eyed soul diva stopped off at a hitherto unknown destination along the way. Before she arrived at Muscle Shoals to work her magic with the late great Rick Hall, Bobbie cut a laid back album of classic and contemporary jazz tunes that was abandoned before it had chance to see the light of day. This was a shame, as Bobbie proves herself as adept in this genre as in any other. This self-produced collection first saw the light of day on the Bobbie Gentry boxset, but this lost album deserves to have its own separate release and what better format than vinyl? The set exudes a sophisticated and intimate late-night vibe mostly featuring Bobbie alone with her guitar accompanied by a bass player; occasionally there is a whisper of strings from Jimmie Haskell who famously composed the cello and violin arrangement on Ode to Billie Joe. Gentry fans will find much to love in Bobbie’s short lived but brilliant turn as a jazz singer. The original 8 tracks to be supplemented by the ‘I Didn’t Know’ and ‘Hushabye Mountain’ demos recorded around the same time, this LP also features the previously unreleased Hushabye Mountain [alternate version].

An archaeological discovery! A newly-found copy of the original 1977 Track Records master tape, without 'mud'!

This classic punk album, recorded in London by the New York band featuring two New York Dolls, was always controversial - and not just for the acronym. Upon its release on Track Records in 1977, it was widely condemned for having a 'muddy mix' - later found to be a mastering fault. When Track went bust the following year, manager Leee Black Childers burgled the office and liberated the tapes - he found everything except the master.

Subsequent releases were remixed from the multi-tracks or compiled from outtake mixes - the 'lost '77 mixes' in 1994 being well-received and the version most known ever since. A lift from the vinyl didn't achieve much clarity. Meanwhile, fans found the '77 cassette version didn't have the infamous 'mud', nor did certain European vinyl matrixes.

In 2020 a chance meeting led to Daniel Secunda's archives. He was an old-school music biz pioneer who understood punk, was a Track Records director, and the Heartbreakers’ L.A.M.F. co-producer. In amongst his many tape boxes were two with no artist name, marked 'Copy Master 12.7.77'. They turned out to be a crystal-clear L.A.M.F., just as the band and producers intended it.

Sadly, in August 2020 the Heartbreakers co-lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Walter Lure passed away. He was the last of the Heartbreakers’ L.A.M.F. line-up: Johnny Thunders died in 1991, Jerry Nolan in 1992, and Billy Rath in 2014. Walter's autobiography is published in paperback in May 2021.

Back To The Old School may have seemed like a crazy title for a hip-hop album released in 1986. In retrospect, Just-Ice clearly saw the movement into a new school of hip-hop as artists like Run DMC and LL Cool J were moving towards mainstream commercial success. The release serves as a punctuation mark at the end of the old school of hip-hop with production by none other than Kurtis Mantronik of acclaimed electronic hip-hop group Mantronix. Long out of print on vinyl, Get On Down marks the 35th anniversary of this landmark with a deluxe splatter color vinyl edition of the LP available only for RSD Drops 2021.

KMD (Kausing Much Damage, or a positive Kause in a Much Damaged society) was the early ‘90s hip-hop group that served as a launching pad for the career of the artist we now know as MF DOOM (known during his KMD tenure as Zev Love X). In the 30 years since Mr. Hood was released so much has changed in the world and the world of hip-hop but this recording has maintained an ageless appeal with DOOM becoming an artist of legendary stature.

Peggy Lee was in top form in 1955, in every aspect of her career. As a vocalist, she was at her peak. Pete Kelly’s Blues (her best acting role) and Lady And The Tramp (she co-wrote six songs and provided the voices for four characters) were both set to be released. That same year, she recorded 49 selections as radio transcriptions for the World Program Service. These recordings were not released to the public, but used by radio stations with unexpected time to fill. The music is more jazz-oriented than many of her Decca recordings of the time. Lee’s cool but inwardly heated voice is joined by frequent collaborators, pianist Gene DiNovi, guitarist Bill Pitman, Bob Whitlock or Don Prell on bass, drummer Larry Bunker, Ramon “Ray” Rivera on congas, harpist Stella Castellucci, and trumpeter Pete Candoli. This series compiles the best selections from those 1955 recordings, beginning with 14 tunes on this first volume. The recordings were mastered for vinyl at Infrasonic Mastering and pressed at Furnace Record Pressing on color vinyl, Exclusively as part of RSD Drops.

The Lillingtons are best known for their catchy tunes about the paranormal, but twenty years ago they surprised us all with the release of The Backchannel Broadcast, an album of high adventure with songs about the Wild West and Russian Spies.  The vinyl for this masterpiece has been out of print for 15+ years, so we figured RSD Drops 2021 was the ideal time to celebrate the anniversary.  For this limited release we’re pressing the album on colored vinyl, including a retro tour poster, and the band mysteriously requested we make 641 copies of this special record.  641?  It’s probably some cryptic message to the mothership.

Love, led by the brilliant and complicated Arthur Lee, is considered one of the most influential American rock bands of all time. The 2015 reissue of their album Reel to Real showed the band at the height of their rock/soul powers, and included twelve previously-unreleased outtakes from the original sessions. This special release features five of those tracks on vinyl for the first time, including three original Lee compositions virtually unknown before the 2015 reissue: the sweet and soulful “You Gotta Feel It”; a catchy rock-pop tune called “I Gotta Remember”; and “Do It Yourself”, a blast of high-energy funk driven by Lee's strutting vocals. The EP also includes the original version of “Everybody's Gotta Live” (recently featured in the film 'Jojo Rabbit' and covered on Mac Miller's posthumous album Circles) as well as a full-band performance of that song and an alternate take of “Singing Cowboy”.

Recorded live at Club Soda in Montreal, Canada on September 8, 2001.
When headbanger historians look back on the important heavy metal and hard rock bands that were active during the '70s, Mahogany Rush's name doesn't come up nearly as often as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Kiss, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Blue Öyster Cult or Aerosmith -- and that is regrettable because Frank Marino led one of the '70s' most exciting hard rock/metal outfits. To some he's the godfather, to others he's the king. Long before bedroom recording became an aesthetic choice, R. Stevie Moore built a legend of pop experimentalism, home recording, and mystic curmudgeonry. Equal parts songwriter, improviser, composer, producer, filmmaker, artist, and comedy writer, the self-taught Tennessean polymath has released hundreds of homemade albums since the '60s--and inspired a thousand times more. Rather than pose and slither in the music biz, Moore opted for a more genuine life and a spot on the staff at legendary indie radio station WFMU, sharing Bedroom Radio with the world. His independent streak extends to his record releases, the R. Stevie Moore Cassette Club successful and long-lasting enough that it became the R. Stevie Moore CD-R Club. By refusing to settle into any one genre or style, Moore has always dedicated himself to eccentric ideas and passions whether around the world or focused into his home. And as Moore now eases into a well-deserved retirement, ON EARTH stands as a powerful statement, an intimate companion, and a goofy guide through a storied career. Ranging all the way back to 1976's classic Phonography, the double-disc retrospective collects a full suite of dazzling power pop, psychedelia, and indie rock, and opens the gateway to the ultimate cult DIY hero.
Documentary, “Cool Daddio: The Second Youth of R. Stevie Moore.” came out on R. Stevie Moore in 2020.

For fans of Gary Wilson, Arthur Russell, Daniel Johnston, Beat Happening, Mac DeMarco, Tin Pan Alley to Frank Zappa (the angular synth lines of "I Wish I Could Sing"), from Roy Wood of the Move ("I've Begun to Fall in Love") to Sparks and the Bonzo Dog Band. Other songs are inspired by Todd Rundgren, Brian Wilson, Syd Barrett (the brilliantly titled "Wayne Wayne Go Away"), Cheap Trick, and XTC.

Since 1966 R. Stevie Moore has recorded nearly 2,000 songs on over 400 very original homemade double albums of alarmingly idiosyncratic variety and styles, often considered a seminal pioneer in the DIY ethic

Made his first home recording in 1966

A New York Times article referenced Moore as the progenitor of "bedroom pop"

XTC founder Andy Partridge said of Moore's work: "What beauty, what invention."

AllMusic's Stewart Mason summarized Moore's body of work as a "one of a kind" mixture of "classic pop influences, arty experimentalism, idiosyncratic lyrics, wild stylistic left turns, and homemade rough edges."

“Although his work generally takes this humorously abstract approach, it can be straightforward, even gentle.” NEW YORK ROCKER : JULY-AUGUST 1980

“Everything he does is one-of-a-kind, because Stevie gets bored quickly. Much of his musical and lyrical content is characterised by a quirky cynicism. He also has a highly sophisticated sense of melody, again without following formulas.” NJArtform

Rolling Stone listed the original release of one of his albums among the fifty most important indie releases ever. Some of those tracks are featured on this release.

1. “Why Should I Love You” 2. “Chantilly Lace” 3. “Cool Daddio” 4. “Don't Let Me Go to the Dogs” 5. “I Love You Too Much To Bother You” 6. “Teen Routines” 7. “Play”

One of the very rare chances – quite possibly the only chance - to listen to the genius of Ennio Morricone engaging with the jazz musical language. His soundtrack for the film The Blue-Eyed Bandit (Il Bandito Dagli Occhi Azzurri by Alfredo Giannetti, 1980) is marked by the very singular 5/4 time which creates a relentless rhythm that perfectly matches the crime atmosphere of the film. This new edition of The Blue-eyed Bandit is part of the Morricone Segreto series by CAM Sugar and it is remastered from the original tapes preserved in the historical CAM Sugar archives. This project brings together the sophisticated songcraft of singer-songwriter Johnny O'Donnell, the iconoclastic arrangements of Van Dyke Parks, and the genial production touch of Lewis Pesacov into a refreshing and rewarding musical package that deserves the focus that only a 45RPM single provides.

Built upon a relationship formed in Los Angeles over a nearly twenty year period, the songs, penned by O'Donnell, are explorations in harmony, straddling the line between familiar and freakish. The arrangements and production are cinematic and full of drama which befits a production born of the belly of Hollywood. Romance, intrigue, and a touch of the unreal is where the tripartite of musical craftsmen have brewed this potion of melodies.

The two unreleased songs will be available for the first time as a 7" single, exclusively as part of RSD Drops.

Early in Johnny Paycheck's pre-fame career, he toured as a sideman and bassist for George Jones in the early 1960s. At that time, he entered a recording studio in an attempt to secure a record deal as a solo artist. The recordings have been long forgotten and unheard until now. The Adams Brothers, who gained notoriety on Mike Judge's Tales From The Tour Bus episode on Paycheck, produced the songs and worked as Paycheck's band. These recordings showcase Paycheck's considerable talent long before the music world took notice. Paycheck performs songs by some of country music's most iconic songwriters such as Cowboy Jack Clement, Mel Tillis, and Bill Anderson. PVRIS marked a new era with the release of Use Me in 2020, as frontwoman, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Lynn Gunn confidently stepped forward as PVRIS’ leader and sole architect. That newfound sense of freedom defined the record, on which Lynn wrote, played the entirely of the guitar, drums, and bass parts, cooked up beats, and of course, sang vocals. Awash in glitchy beat-craft, airy guitars, and spell-binding vocals, the record included 070 Shake collaboration “Use Me,” explosive song “Hallucinations,” plus “Dead Weight,” “Gimme A Minute,” and “Death of Me” all brought to life by producer JT Daly [K. Flay].

The deluxe edition of the acclaimed third studio album featured five new tracks, including remixes of fan-favorites “Dead Weight” (remixed by Nicole Moudaber) and “Loveless,” (remixed by Lynn herself), plus brand-new song “Thank You” featuring RAYE. For the first time ever, these five tracks are now available on coke bottle clear vinyl, exclusively for RSD Drops.

Permanent Records is profoundly proud to present this limited edition reissue of Raven's highly regarded 1975 wasted hard rock masterpiece, Back To Ohio Blues. More hard rock than blues, this stoned proto-punk record is one-of-a-kind and is finally being reissued with its original minimalist artwork. Fans of other wasted private press geniuses like Circuit Rider, George Brigman, and Heitkotter will absolutely want to file this on the shelf right next to the cheap beer filled mini-fridge to be enjoyed in the garage with the next six-pack / bong rips sesh. But don't take our word for it, here's what the heads at Acid Archives had to say about this rarity:
"Messed up bluesy hard rock biker statement which I'm told comes straight from this guy's reality, no posing but the real thing. Great punky vocals relate stories on smack, sex, Ohio, Harleys and everything else that makes life worth living. Sample lyrics: "gotta get high, gotta get f***ed, nail me to your cross". An impressive intensity especially on side 1 and one of the few local white blues rock LP's that truly works. A classic of mid '70's local hard stoner dementia; would make a good double bill with the Merry Airbrakes."

Unless you have $1250 in your piggy bank to spend on an OG, you shouldn't think twice about plunking your hard-earned milk money down on this reissue, before it's gone again.

I remember the heat that day burning through my JCPenney’s suit that I bought just the day before for our show at Avondale Brewing Company in Birmingham. 100 degree temperature outside in the dead of summer in Alabama is not uncommon. I was pouring sweat alongside people who had just met that day for the first time to play a show under the name St. Paul & The Broken Bones. I hated my name being in the band’s name but who cared at that point, it was just a fling. Now, over 8 years later, we built a career out of it.

During this pandemic, I have gotten awfully nostalgic. For a time, we would travel constantly and shows started blending together. The bar for the best show/best audience was just so high. That endorphin rush was taken for granted. The first moment we had to play a socially distanced show, I knew exactly what we should do. Play a show at Avondale Brewery and do our debut album in full. Something I would never had done if the pandemic had not happened. Mainly because I am a perpetual motion kind of person and don’t like looking back. The beauty though of looking back at the beginning was realizing all the great people that helped us turn a summer fling into an actual career. From TT Management to Single Lock Records to High Road Touring. It was such a beautiful time. Here is the live recording from that show that night. I hope y’all enjoy.

Shintaro Sakamoto, the former frontman of legendary psych/rock band Yura Yura Teikoku, is a Japanese music composer, producer, writer and singer based in Tokyo. New 12-inch EP is the latest release on Records Store Day 2021, a collection of his new songs recorded during the pandemic, available on vinyl.

Tracks include "The Feeling Of Love" - a boogie number that features a tremolo guitar, an exotic steel guitar, and a robotic voice with a light mid-tempo beat, with lyrics depicting the everyday life within the extraordinary situation. "Obscure Nightclub" is a ballad with a bottom heavy beat, a steel guitar, a clear flute sound, and an insect-voiced chorus. While portraying the scene of a nightclub, he sings about his feelings under the pandemic. The B-side features "By Swallow Season" - a mid-tempo jazzy boogie track, with sentimental lyrics over a floating mellow wah-wah guitar and melancholy saxophone. "How many years does it take to return to normal~", Sakamoto sings, reflecting on the situation. The EP ends with "Don't Tinker With History", a boogie-funk song which opens with a James Brown-like guitar riff. An ultimate soul classic in contemporary Japan, the echoey steel guitar and the dry strumming blends in with the tight groove, along with his straightforward lyrics like "People and events that were pretended it didn't exist".

Side B 1. By Swallow Season 2. Don't Tinker With History
