Unlike previous releases (which banked on distorted guitars and speedy tempos), this is completely dark ambient. Recorded between 2000 and 2002, this set of six ambient tracks shows a more concentrated side of Leviathan, proving that Wrest (Leviathan mastermind) is indeed capable of the most haunting nuance over extended audio trips. Leviathan is an ambient black metal solo project that started in 1998 by Jef Whitehead, using the pseudonym Wrest. In Leviathan, Wrest records and plays all instruments including vocals entirely on his own. He has stated in interviews that he has been playing drums longer than any other instrument and that the drums are his instrument of choice. Wrest also plays and records everything in his other project Lurker of Chalice.

Hailing from the festering, once-grunge-filled bowels of Seattle, Blood Ritual was originally formed in 1991 by Tim Bishop, a member of the Church of Satan, as a band called Impiety and dedicated to authentic Satanism. After several line-ups, four devastating songs, and a name change, in 1992 Blood Ritual was officially born. The band soon played several local shows, where they overwhelmed the fans and out-performed their headliners. Strange occurrences took place at these shows: Cars mysteriously caught fire, people's crucifixes broke and fell, and some listeners went mad and began hearing voices. Over time, some Blood Ritual members began experiencing strange things, such as visions. Blood Ritual would go on to play with headlining bands such as Incantation, Obituary, and Six Feet Under. Recorded at the Autopsy Room and mastered at Nettleingham Audio, Black Grimoire was hailed as even more of a classic than it's predecessor, and rightly so.

Both editions sold through and have not seen the light again until today. Wind Of The Black Mountains, one of the 5 founding fathers of US Black Metal (alongside Judas Iscariot, Profanatica, GBK & Masochist), returns with a new release! 18 years after their last album, Tchort rises from the grave in order to deliver a post-mortem blow of True Antichrist US Black Metal to a scene gone soft and sanctimonious. Founded in 1992, WOTBM began as a side project to Tchorts main band, Masochist, shortly becoming a force of it's own. Through WOTBM, Tchort evoked true black metal, force-fed with unique and blasphemous atmosphere, utilizing acoustic guitars, violin, keyboard, eerie vocals, effects and interludes, injecting new blood and sound into the heart of Black Metal! Both brutal and ethereal, WOTBM changed the face of black metal with their 1996, debut "Sing Though Unholy Servants", utilizing female vocals and a myriad of instruments, all without dampening the band's sound. In fact, these accoutrements added to the sinister under-tone of their encompassing style. With 2002's "Black Sun Shall Rise", WOTBM again broke all pre-conceptions of Black Metal, delivering a much more barbaric & bestial sound, which saw Tchort returning to his root writing style, ala the Legendary Masochist. "BSSR" soon became a milestone in early USBM history and remains a mandatory album in all metal collections! In 2006, Tchort's life was cut short; however, death can stop the Devil, even from behind the 7-gates of Hell! Tchort now haunts us all with "Summoned By Shadows", 4 remarkable unreleased tracks he recorded just prior to his untimely demise. Mixing was completed by long-time drummer Nybras, with help from prior Masochist band-mate and Summon leader, Xasphan. Moribund Records is now proud to unleash these tracks with additional bonus songs from the bands rare, self-titled second demo, the cult classic "Forcefed into Blasphemy" 7"EP, as well as several unreleased bonus tracks from the vast Moribund archives! 2015 release. The Voodoos is a five piece rock n' roll band from Ireland who formed together on the Costa Blanca in Spain. After a few member adjustments the band began to discover writing abilities after playing cover gigs around the tourist area of Alicante/Murcia and it wasn't long before playing the festivals in the area and appearing on radio and TV. Once the band started figuring out their style the name of The Voodoos was spreading like wildfire and people came to see what was described as a Raw and Energetic live performance.

The sense of isolation and mystery that pervades Wende, the solo project from multi-instrumentalist and compose Zamiel (who is also a member of the Chicago three-piece black metal project Skinwalker), would situate it perfectly within windswept, much-mythologized Scandinavian landscape. But instead of Norway, this deeply philosophical (but no less frostbitten) project is based deep in the woods of the Okanagan, in Washington. Originally released in an extremely limited and hard-to-acquire format in 2011, the first full-length from Wende, Vorspiel einer Philosophie der Zukunft ("a prelude to the philosophy of the future") has finally been given a wider release, and deservedly so. The record is a strange construction, alternating between tracks of blisteringly acerbic, Burzum-like black metal and much more introspective, instrumental ambience. The effect is profoundly unsettling, but the sense of ebb and flow, construction and dissolution, suits the intellectual framework of the project well. The one unifying aspect of the record is how cold it is; every riff is as merciless as flesh sticking to frozen metal. But the way the cold manifests can be profoundly different, from the deep cold vacuum of space evoked by the ambient tracks to the violent icy blasts of the more aggressive parts of the record. The environment conjured by Vorspiel einer Philosophie der Zukunft is unremittingly hostile, but also unquestioningly beautiful, if you can handle the threat of frostbite. (Moribund)
