Enter To Win Tickets To The Lemon Twigs!
The Lemon Twigs are led by teenage brothers Brian and Michael D'Addario, who have been in bands together for a decade. They grew up in Long Island surrounded by music. Dad was a prolific songwriter and producer, while mom was a singer, and the boys spent their childhoods absorbing all the different sounds in their parents' record collection. It paid off. Their debut album, Do Hollywood, is easily one of the most creative, entertaining, and challenging albums we've heard in a long while. Check out some review excerpts:
"Do Hollywood is a unique and kaleidoscopic trip through sound and melody with a profound nostalgia, yet somehow fractionally distilled into something quite startling. ... With one foot in the present and one foot in the past, The Lemon Twigs have produced one of the most striking, individual, and colorful debuts of the year. The potential for this band is something truly exhilarating to behold." - Under The Radar
"Do Hollywood, their first album proper, is a work of deeply impressive songcraft, musicianship and arranging that expertly mines the D’Addarios’ myriad formative influences. Which, it seems, are almost all from a five-year period between the years of 1970 and 1975, taking in the golden age of the confessional singer-songwriter, glam rock and the intricate, quasi-classical ambitions of ELO and early Queen." - Music OMH
"...an album that seems to form a crude tapestry of musical history, taking in everything from The Beatles to Primal Scream, with a bit of Big Star in there for good measure. It’s an endlessly exciting, slightly surreal trip through some of the 20th century’s best sounds." - The Line Of Best Fit
