Win Tickets To Strand Of Oaks At Neumos!
Strand Of Oaks' (aka Indiana-born Philly resident Timothy Showalter) latest album Hard Love follows 2014's Heal, which Pitchfork described as "an album as memoir: stark and at times emotionally harrowing as it recounts with bracing candor the artist’s struggles with friends, family, and most of all himself." Hard Love is different. In an interview with Old Rookie/Easy Street Online writer Ian Bremner, Showalter says this about the recording of the new album: "I’m gonna be honest, we're facing some pretty sterile times in what rock music is at this point and I wanted to make the opposite of air-pop radio music. I wanted to make the sweatiest, dirtiest, filthiest… I kept saying, I want it to be sweaty." Now Showalter is bringing the sweat to Seattle with a March 24th show at Neumos! Enter to win a pair of tickets by e-mailing us with the subject line "Hard Love" and please include first & last name with entry. We'll draw a winner on 3/22. Good luck!
