Flume - Friday

Who: Australian producer/musician DJ

Latest Album: Skin (Future Classic Records)

Style: EDM, Dance-Pop

What "They" Say:

"In an era when EDM stardom can be as close as a light-up mask, clever anonymous alias, and management-directed collaborations, Flume has continually avoided the gimmicks and concentrated on a production palette that festival-goers crave and Billboard Award recipients are looking to hijack. Gearing up to be the next EDM crossover talent, Flume’s sophomore effort, Skin, showcases a producer at ease with all of the sounds moving tickets at America’s major festival events: hip-hop, indie pop, and EDM." - Consequence Of Sound

Die Antwoord - Friday

Who: South African duo known for their controversial videos.

Latest Album: Mount Ninji and da Nice Time Kid (Zef Records)

Style: "Zef Ninja Rap Rave"

What "They" Say:

"Sleazy South African troublemakers Die Antwoord bring their circus of bad taste and big beats back on fourth outing Mount Ninji and Da Nice Time Kid. As ever, the alley-trash duo of Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er keep it crass while rapping and angel-cooing over hip-hop beats and drug-fueled rave loops." - All Music

Dude York - Friday

Who: Seattle power-pop trio

Latest Album: Sincerely (Hardly Art)

Style: "Sweetly melodic crunch of powerpop with massive distortion and bashed-to-heck drums."

What "They" Say:

"If there’s one influence splattered all over Dude York’s new album Sincerely, it’s Weezer. They creep into everything: lead singer/guitarist Peter Richards’ vocals, he and bassist/singer Claire England’s ability to craft crunchy indie pop, the delicate straddle of gloomy and energetic. If you’re casually overhearing 'Life Worth Living PT 2' or 'Twin Moons,' there’s a good chance of confusing it with a long lost Weezer B-side. But this Seattle trio has much more to offer..." - Punk News
